Chance encounter turns into a lucky day

I was on the beach today with my camera when I met a gentleman who gave me an exciting tip. He’d noticed I was photographing birds and told me that he’d just recently spotted a Mountain Bluebird less than a mile from where we were standing. This type of bird is normally found west of the Rockies, so this bird is a long way from home. Not sure how he got so off course, but I hope he’s enjoying his stay in Wilmington and that he finds his way back home soon. Safe travels, pretty bird. Big thanks to Ken Hackney for sharing his find. I believe he’s the first person here in NC to have officially documented this fella’s visit.
